Whether from home or a small studio, many business owners crave the opportunity to share ideas, brainstorm, problem solve and be creative together.
Enter The Social Exchange Sessions, where we'll hear from Tasmanians in business who have successfully navigated their way through the crazy jungle of digital marketing. Learn about their wins and challenges, connect with like-minded locals and turn your hand to a little creative practice!
The sessions will be facilitated by Digital Ready coach and social media specialist Jen Murnaghan from www.digitaldandy.com.au. Each session will include a special guest who you will have the opportunity to connect with.
This month, the Ecommerce Whisperer Scott Kilmartin will join Jen in a lively discussion where they will break down the best practices for online selling, the do's, the don'ts and the absolute musts. In the second part of the session Scott will be doing a couple of live site reviews to practically show how to improve your sites & drive conversions.
Scott hails from Hobart, and started his business haul in 1998 from a garage in Moonah and card table at Salamanca Market, initially turning old license plates into photo album covers. He started in ecommerce in 1999 and was an early adopter of social media in the mid 2000s combining it with traditional PR to expand the brand to having retail stores and supplying 300+ design stores globally.
In 2008 haul won the City of Melbourne Business of the Yearaward after spinning our a corporate arm of the business upcycling used vinyl advertising billboard and selling them back to companies like SEEK, Shell & CUB as doc satchels & conference bags.
In 2012 he co-founded and was strategy director of ecommerce agency Online Store Guys project managing 50 + site builds and was the founding member of the National Online Retailers Association. He consults with brands Elle McPherson Body, Zanerobe and Tea Too, and interviews the best boutique Australian brands on ecommerce, retail and customer experience on Online Offline an event series he co-produces.
